With 3 delivery solutions respectively, you have got below options:   1. SF: you need an agent to clear the custom for you at the destination port and pay them to deliver the goods to your door. To do this, you can either ask your factory to quote you DTU prices (door to door price, all frieght included, and bill to the vendor. Most China vendors don't understand this term, as they are lack of resources of logistics solution at the destination country. 2. AF: same as SF, you'd need an agent to clear the custom and deliver to your door; or you ask for DTU prices. 3. Courier: overall costs are cheaper than AF(including port to door delivery freight) if the cargo is below 50kgs.

Hello Friend,   It all depends on the weight and the dims of your cargo .   Could  you please give detail so that we can help.   You can choose the door to door service with express service within about 2-4 days time with a high shipping cost(DHL/EMS/UPS)   You can also choose door to door via ocean freight service with a long time delivery time (Small parcel do not use sea freight service for it is not cheaper than courier service )   Hope above make sence Lizzy

Hi,my friend. i think you should tell them that your factory is 200 miles apart from the sea port. and ask them if they will delivery the goods from the port to your factory. And tell them you won't wast the extra money that cost on delivery the goods from the port to your factory  or sitting at a port . And ask them to give you the door to door price which within all freight cost and bill to the vendor. Then you need an agent to delear the goods at the customs at the destination portand pay then to deliver the goods to your factory. Modified by qing yu on 09-02-2011 18:19

For your confusion, i think maybe shipper wanna say they can offer door to cy(ocean port) and door to door(to your nominated place).   Door to cy service: Shipper arrange stuffing and ocean shipment to port   Door to Door: Some carrier can offer to door service  and this service also can be arrange by shipper's forwarder.

Its depended on your purchased equipments weight , if its huge, i suggest you to do as below: Firstly , check your home town for a road international transportation company , make a contact with them and ask if they can arrange for " INWARD TRANSIT" from discharge port to the customs of your hometown , if they can do like it , then provide the name of transport company to your supplier and ask them to mention to advice their forwarder company which issue ocean bill of lading to put the following sentence in it,s original bill of ladings : FINAL DESTINATION : {NAME OF DISCHARGE PORT} FOR TRANSIT TO {THE NAME OF YOUR HOMETOWN CUSTOMS} CUSTOMS BY {THE NAME OF TRANSPORT COMPANY } IN RISK AND CHARGE OF CONSIGNEE. Once you get original bill of ladings , then submit to your transport company to arrange for inward transit of your equipments from discharge port to your customs , then you can start customs clearance process there in your home town, . Good Luck

Hi, I am a clearing agent based in JHB, what you need to find out from the supplier, when they say door to door, if it includes your customs import clearance, Vat and Customs duties for the import, most likely it does not, the danger with importing from door to door, is that the supplier gets a clearing agent in south africa, and dictates the prices that needs to be charged, so not only is he making a profit on the chairs that you are buying, but he is also making a profit on the logistic, the clearing charges will most likely be ridiculous, if this shipment has already left, you are basically a sitting duck, and can do nothing about it, if it hasn't left as yet, rather purchase the goods on ex works or fob terms, cost for goods would be a lot cheaper, and all you have to do is get a clearing agent based in South Africa to organise to have it delivered to your door, if you are intersted, I will be able to help you. Also note that you will require an importers code to have the cargo brought in for you.

there are to ways..... if the confirm CIF delivery - it just covers cost insurance and freight in this case u got to hire a clearing agent and get the goods released from customs and get them delivered to ur address...... there is also a door to door delivery option........if they confirm it that way..... in this case the good comes by sea to ur port.....then they are released form custom and delivered to ur doorstep directly by road........covers all charges............there would be just a small charge u got to pay............ so get it confirmed from the supplier on their shipping terms......... as them their price for CIF and door to door both......
