A consignee is the person to whom goods are shipped. A consignee is the person who is assigned to accept or receive the goods. A consignee is also a person who is assigned to hold goods for delivery or sale by another agent or party.

Kevin , do your buyer is trading, middleman or import agent ? Normally Consignee is Your buyer/client/customer! The Consignee is used in the Bill of Lading of shipment, addressed to your buyer and or their agent if they using import agent or it can be the end user/buyer if your buyer want it to be ship/send directly to the last buyer. Simply, the consignee mean the address of recipient to send/ship for. or the destination address to receive the goods/cargo/container. So, If your buyer himself asking to you about who is the Consignee ? how can you answer it ? suppose that as the Shipper(you) must been told/instruct by your client/buyer : Where the goods will be addressed/send ? because the Consignee is your client itself, if not then s/he has to tell you where it must be addressed as Consignee. Not You?
