What is this case worth the and why is my attorney keeping the 25,000.00 in a trust and how long do they hold it?

I was involved in a accident being rear ended in July of 09, my insurance carrier State Farm recently agreed to settle my UM limits of 25000.00. only after my attorney filed a complaint with Florida Public Services Commission, in addition my attorney is seeking a bad faith claim against the insurance carrier of the person who hit me, I am having surgery for a cervical fusion soon as this is a result of the accident, My Question is, what is this case worth the and why is my attorney keeping the 25,000.00 in a trust and how long do they hold it.

For liability reasons, I suggest you not take my opinion as "legal advice" or the last word. Get an attorneys opinion. That said, IMO, your injury portion of your claim is usually worth 2 to 4 times the "medical and non-medical special damages". Could be less if you have a criminal record, more if you are a lovable character. However much a jury would like or dislike you personally! I have no idea about the trust, perhaps because you are under age, or something in your contract about funds received?
